Odin Ltd - the predecessor company of Smartfreq was founded in 2006 with the aim to introduce RFID technology, to make it known in Hungary, to support the work of Odin Technologies USA in Europe. This period, the joint work provided us with a great learning opportunity to learn and understand this technology on the job, to get to know the best products and manufacturers. We are getting a good grounding in passive RFID technology, both HF and UHF systems and devices.
We completed our first library RFID project in the technical library of Richter Gedeon Nyrt in 2007.The UHF system, which was a pioneer at the time, has been working well ever since, of course, while the active devices - readers - were updated and modernised.
Since then, we have installed RFID systems in nearly 80 libraries, mostly using UHF technology, but we have also installed HF systems at the customer's specific request, including the CEU library and the Ráday Collection, and in several libraries abroad.
The last 17 years and the many systems in operation, the stable, almost unchanged staff shows us that we are on the right track, we would like to continue to support libraries with our knowledge and experience, to expand our customer base, primarily in Hungary, but also in neighbouring countries. Currently, we have library clients in Austria, Romania, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and other countries.
In addition to library systems, we also design and install RFID systems to support logistics and manufacturing processes in industrial environments. Our production tracking and delivery control systems dynamically support our customers' efforts to minimise waste and ensure quality. Our HF and UHF laundry, textile tracking applications work well in hospitals and industrial plants.
We are looking for new applications for RFID tools in libraries that have been proven in industrial environments, and we are trying to meet new needs and new circumstances with new hardware and software tools developed in-house. To take the specific needs, possibilities and capabilities of libraries into account to the maximum extent possible with our customised solutions. The broad manufacturing base of UHF technology and the wide possibilities of rapidly developing technology offer good opportunities for this.
